Corona detection Camera

Features:
  • Capable of detecting and producing video images of energy generated by the corona phenomena.
  • Solar-blind and can visualize corona in full daytime.
  • Consists of 2 cameras, a UV sensitive camera to image the corona and a color Day TV to image the surrounding scene.
  • 16° / 8° / 4° fields-of-view.
  • Detects in the 240 - 280 nm wavelength.
  • 3 x 10-18 watt/cm2 sensitivity.
Types of Problems Found:
  • Degradation of polymer insulators
  • Cracked porcelain insulators
  • Rusted cement and metal caps & pins on porcelain insulators
  • Contamination - coastal salt; industrial vapors and dusts; cement dust; highway road-salt; tire dust and car emissions; agricultural dusts and fertilizers
  • RFI, TVI and audio noise sources that lead to customer complaints
  • Wrong design and improper installation that may lead to mechanical and electrical failure of hardware such as corona ring, conductors ADSS, etc...

Infrared Camera

Features:
  • 640 x 480 pixel image resolution.
  • 12° lens with 2X ezoom.
  • Capable of detecting hot spots.
